The WWF Peter Scott Visitor Centre opened its doors in 2023. Through a series of upscaling and renovation projects, it transformed from a nature reserve into a “nature classroom”. After renovations, more space is available for accommodation and training, promoting dialogues and interactions with the nature. Sustainable development is at the core of the construction process; sustainable materials were used in the environmentally-aware design. Bamboo and FSC-certified wood are used for the majority of the interior design, which optimises air circulation. The high ceilings and the sparse palette of the building gives generous daylight, while reducing its environmental footprint. Modular bamboo seating sculptures bring a warm environmental appeal to the building.
