Referred to as le petit prince du violoncelle in the French media, Edgar Moreau won the 2nd Prize at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition when he was 17.  In 2014, he became the winner of the 1st Prize and 6 special prizes at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and was named “Soliste Instrumental de l’Année” at Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2015.  He returns to perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto under Chien Wen-pin, who will also conduct the Asian première of Chou Chiu-yu’s The Tongue, commissioned for BBC’s Shakespeare 400 Festival in 2016.
