Inspired by Beethoven series - Cellomania: Alban Gerhardt Plays Julian Anderson

Acclaimed as “One of the finest cellists around - expressive, unshowy and infinitely classy“, Alban Gerhardt has been making a unique impact on audiences worldwide with his intense musicality, compelling stage presence and insatiable artistic curiosity for 25 years. His gift for shedding fresh light on familiar scores, along with his appetite for investigating new repertoire from centuries past and present, truly set him apart from his peers.

In this concert, he will collaborate with Hong Kong Sinfonietta under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Christoph Poppen, giving Asian première of Litanies, work written for Cello & Orchestra by British composer Julian Anderson. Programme also includes Oberon Overture by Weber and Beethoven’s Symphony No 3 in E-flat.
