How crucial is ‘space’ to children’s growth and development? How should adults provide them with autonomous space (both physically and psychologically) in order to facilitate their growth? How do children's games and a playful environment help in achieving that?
In this talk, product design Kay Chan, Marisa Yiu from DESIGN TRUST and Chris Yuen from the Playright Children's Play Association will share their experiences in designing children’s play space. Apart from the input of the design team itself, users’ participation—including that of children—is crucial during the process. Let us look at the idea of space from the perspectives of children— taking into account their needs and simultaneously giving them an opportunity to build their independence and confidence.
