PMQ Seed 2023 KIDS CONNECT Summer Camp (Junior Primary) — Ant Islands

In today’s ever-changing world, we want to encourage kids to venture beyond the digital realm and their own classrooms, and to engage with the community in ways unique to childhood. To paraphrase renowned Italian educator Loris Malaguzzi, a child has three teachers: his/her elders, the environment, and the peers he/she grows up with. Through the process of group play, kids are able to learn social skills such as empathy and collaboration, which are essential to the practice of creativity.

This year’s PMQ Seed carries the theme “Kids connect”—our goal is to stimulate the innate originality and imagination available to all little ones, and tap into the power of connection amongst peers. We hope to help kids build a sense of belonging in the community through exchanging ideas, diving deep into autonomous explorations, and working together on experimental projects. We know these extraordinary experiences will play a major part in kids’ development of foundational skills in tomorrow’s world.

Programme Contents (Junior Primary - for local students promoting to P3 or P4)

PMQ Seed Summer Camp (Junior Primary) program 'Ant Islands' is set in a world of imaginary floating islands. Our teaching team will turn the venue into an ocean filled with small islands, and have students work in teams as island animals who must complete a series of missions together. Over the course of three days, students will build skills necessary for self-expression, team communication, and creative problem solving. Each session will feature a simple woodworking experience in which students can create their own imaginative pieces under professional guidance.

*The programme content is subjected to change.
