PMQ Seed 2023 Kids Connect - Mini-camp
In today’s ever-changing world, we want to encourage kids to venture beyond the digital realm and their own classrooms, and to engage with the community in ways unique to childhood. To paraphrase renowned Italian educator Loris Malaguzzi, a child has three teachers: his/her elders, the environment, and the peers he/she grows up with. Through the process of group play, kids are able to learn social skills such as empathy and collaboration, which are essential to the practice of creativity.
This year’s PMQ Seed carries the theme “Kids connect”—our goal is to stimulate the innate originality and imagination available to all little ones, and tap into the power of connection amongst peers. We hope to help kids build a sense of belonging in the community through exchanging ideas, diving deep into autonomous explorations, and working together on experimental projects. We know these extraordinary experiences will play a major part in kids’ development of foundational skills in tomorrow’s world.
PMQ Seed 2023 KIDS CONNECT Mini Camp ‘Building Bridges’ is an exciting and enriching program for families. Our experienced Design Facilitators from CreativeKids guide you through interactive activities to explore bridge history, types, and structures.
Simple drawing and model-making activities allow you and your child to design and develop your own mini bridge and build cross-curricular connections, sustainable concepts, and big-picture thinking. The program fosters empathy, communication, and teamwork skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Your work will be kept at PMQ until 20 August, and a huge bridge composed by all participants' works will be displayed to the public on the same day. Families are welcome to come back at 1-5 pm on 20 August to take pictures and see your collective creation. The works can be picked up at PMQ at 5- 6 pm on the same day.
Join us for an unforgettable adventure that inspires creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills!
