If animals and plants could speak, what would they say? What would you like to chat about with them?

The GREEN & ME Mini-camp invites us to ponder these questions. Through learning empathy and observation—two key elements of design thinking—kids aged 5 to 8 and their parents are encouraged to empathise with themselves and others, as well as connect with the natural world.

In the first part of the programme, participants learn to recognise and differentiate emotions experienced by themselves and others via the “Emotion Wheel”. This is followed by a series of activities including nature games, social scenario narratives, and multi-sensory exploration of local flora and fauna specimens, through which participants attempt to experience life from the perspective of nature.

In the second part, participants become young natural journalists. Equipped with the observation skills of “slowness, quietness, and appreciation”, they step into nature to interview flora and fauna friends through creative role-playing. By experiencing the world from the position of a flower, bird, or any living thing, participants learn to imagine and empathise with the lives, feelings, and needs of their natural neighbours from the latter's angles.
