Hong Kong Players are proud to present ‘Funny Shorts’, Three Short Plays by the playwright, screenwriter and novelist David Ives, including ‘Time Flies’, ‘Degas C’est Moi’, and ‘The Mystery at Twicknam Vicarage’. These will be performed at the McAuley Studio Theatre, Arts Centre, Wan Chai, on the 10th to the 13th of May.
Famous for his short scripts and the play 'Venus In Fur', 'Funny Shorts' is an evening in the world of David Ives, where not everything is as it seems! These Shorts will include:
Time Flies
With just 24 hours to live, two young, lowly mayflies must get their romance on, quick! But David Attenborough's narration hinder or help?
Degas C’est Moi
An out-of-work man called Ed suddenly decides that he’s Edgar Degas, the renowned French impressionist painter from the 1800’s. Where better to do this than in New York, a city full of inspiration for a painter like himself? Follow him as he tours the city, meeting many interesting people - a lot of whom find him quite peculiar!
Mystery at Twicknam Vicarage
There’s a body on the carpet and 3 outrageous suspects. Who killed Jeremy Thumpington Fffienes? Will Roger the Rector help Inspector Dexter find the too too terrible trooth? Multiple things are revealed in this well-written story, including more than one interesting love affair!
